My Story

In May 2024 our dear friend Rob Appleyard was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.  He was cared for at home by his loving wife Amanda and close friends with weekly visits from one of the nurses at Dorothy House.  When he became too ill to be looked after at home, he was taken into Dorothy House. The wonderful staff at Dorothy House made him as comfortable as possible and cared for him with great compassion and dignity during the final three weeks before he passed on 14^th October.

Rob was Mayor of Bath in 2022/2023 and served on the local council from 2007 to 2023.  He worked closed on local community projects with great passion and commitment.

About Dorothy House
As our local hospice, they work to ensure that everyone in our community with a life-limiting illness has access to the best possible end of life care. To do this, Dorothy House have to raise over £16 million each year.  Without your generous donations, their care and services would not be possible.

I will be running the Bath Half for Dorothy House Hospice Care on 16^th March 2025. Donations of any size will be greatly appreciated.
